Williamson County Commissioners Court divided up $100 million in bond funds to various road projects throughout the county during its meeting July 14.

The funds make up the second set of the $275 million in road bonds approved by voters in November 2013. In the election, voters also approved $40 million in bonds for parks and recreation.

In the first phase of the 2013 bond, county leaders allocated $102.6 to road improvement projects throughout the county. Commissioners approved the first phase of the projects June 3, 2014.

Now moving into phase two of improvements, the commissioners agreed to divide $100.1 million between the four precincts in the county.

“This is simply the allocation of those funds and assigning them to the appropriate projects to keep the projects going,” said Bob Daigh, Williamson County director of infrastructure. “There will be some additional monies coming to fully fund the bond program, this is simply how money will be distributed in the second phase.”

In Precinct 1, $19.3 million was set aside for projects including the North Mays Extension from Paloma Drive to Oakmont Drive and improvements to RM 620 from Wyoming Springs to Deep Wood.

In Precinct 2, $22.7 million will fund improvements including Hero Way West from Lakeline Boulevard to US 183, CR 200 from SH 29 to CR 236 and improvements to Anderson Mill Road.

In Precinct 3, $22.6 million will help improve Inner Loop I-35 to FM 2243, Westinghouse Road from FM 1460 to SH 130 and CR 175 from Creekside Meadows to Leander Road.

In Precinct 4, $19.1 million will fund improvements such as CR 101 from US 79 to FM 1660, the CR 119 extension from Limmer Loop to Chandler Road and CR 110 from Limmer Loop to CR 107.

The amount now allocated in both phases totals $202.6 million. Some county projects will need additional funding in order to be completed, according to documents with the Williamson County Auditor’s Office, which may be funded in a later bond sale.
