The widening of Gosling Road from four to six lanes from West Rayford Road to Creekside Forest Drive is in the study phase by The Woodlands Road Utility District No. 1. The engineering study will establish the roadways, lane allocation and alignment along with the appropriate drainage systems. The project has been temporarily halted since funds for its bridge were in the Montgomery County road bond, which voters turned down May 9.

2. Gosling Road bridge
The widening of Gosling Road over Spring Creek includes a bridge over the creek. The WRUD No.1 is designing the project while Montgomery and Harris counties are funding the bridge’s construction. The project will be sent out for bid once the project’s development is complete and construction funds are identified.

3. Kuykendahl Road bridge
A bridge on Kuykendahl Road over Spring Creek is being designed by The WRUD No.1. The project is a joint partnership between The WRUD No.1 and Montgomery and Harris counties. The project will be sent out for bid at the completion of its development and once funds are identified.

4. Kuykendahl road widening
A bid date of August 2016 is anticipated for the widening of Kuykendahl Road from four to six lanes. The widening will occur between Woodlands Parkway and August Pines Drive. The process of bidding and contract preparation could take up to 60 days, with a start date on the project of late September to mid-October.

5. The Grand Parkway
The 180-mile loop will include two lanes in each direction with intermittent feeder roads. Thirty-eight miles of the project under construction, called segments F-1, F-2 and G, are in Harris and Montgomery counties. Construction is by Zachary-Odebrecht Parkway Builders.

6. I-45 HOV lane extension
The I-45 high-occupancy vehicle lane extension project will add two managed lanes in each direction along I-45 from the Harris/Montgomery county line to Loop 336 in Conroe. The project is under a 90-day delay clause that ends July 20. The project, once started, will last about six months, according to TxDOT.
