After sitting vacant for years, the former site of Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe on Research Boulevard was recently torn down to make way for a new Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen.

A sign announcing the new Pappadeaux at 11617 Research Blvd. just south of Duval Road went up in May. A manager from the Pappadeaux restaurant at 6303 N. I-35 confirmed its opening and said the restaurant would open in six to 12 months. Pappadeaux will be adjacent to the former Zio’s Italian Kitchen building, which is still standing, and a Prosperity Bank under construction at 11545 Research Blvd. www.pappadeaux.com
