Sewell Automotive Co. has plans to expand during the next two years by adding BMW of Grapevine and three other German-brand car dealerships in Texas.
BMW of Grapevine is expected to open in spring 2016 next to Sewell Cadillac, which opened in 2004 at 1001 E. SH 114.
Tentatively the dealership will be 300,000 square feet in size and include a four-story parking garage.
Besides the dealership in Grapevine, Sewell will open an Audi dealership in McKinney on an 11-acre site at the intersection of SH 121 and Stacy Road. The company will also open two dealerships in the Houston area.
With the four new additions, Sewell will have a total of 18 dealerships throughout Texas.
Sewell currently has 14 dealerships in Dallas, Fort Worth, Grapevine, Houston, Plano and San Antonio.
According to the news release, Sewell is a family-owned business, which started in 1911, does more than $1.8 billion in annual sales, sells more than 31,000 vehicles annually and employs more than 2,000 people.
The company sells car brands such as Audi, Cadillac, Infiniti, Lexus, Maserati, Mini, Subaru, Buick and GMC.
