Ken and Kim Jahns became the new owners of JT’s Sports Grille in February after former owners J.T. and Julie Vail moved to Florida. Then after months of planning and talking with customers, in August the Jahnses changed the restaurant’s name to Sidelines Sportsgrille. “We really gave the bar a complete facelift—new menus, new logo, new interior,” Kim said. Ken said they remodeled the restrooms and added 25 TV screens. They kept menu items, such as burgers and pizza, but also added salads and may make more changes in 2015. “We’re still working on our kitchen … [to] see what people like,” he said. Kim said the new name better reflects the restaurant’s emphasis on local and national sports. “When this was JT’s, I think the assumption was that it was more of a bar and also a restaurant,” Kim said. Sidelines has added display jerseys from local teams and hosts events for local youth leagues, she said. “We have weekly charity poker tournaments,” Kim said. “That’s helped with business. … During the day, during dinner hours, we want [Sidelines] to be family-friendly, where you can bring your kids and they’ll have a good experience.”
