Worth Hotels LLC announced Sept. 23 that it will open a new 86-room hotel in Cedar Park by March 2016.
SpringHill Suites by Marriott will be located at 1110 Discovery Boulevard and feature a full bar as well as a 1,500-square-foot indoor meeting space, according to a news release. About 3,000 square feet of outdoor space will be centered around oak trees and overlook the retention pond adjacent to the Costco that opened in November 2013.
In a statement Worth Hotels President Doug Denman said he is excited to enter the Cedar Park market with a SpringHill Suites by Marriott.
"We really like the Cedar Park market and believe there is a need for an upper-moderate, all-suites hotel that delivers the space and the stylish, inspiring design offered by SpringHill Suites, all while delivering local flavor that will make this property unique to Cedar Park," he said. The hotel's construction will include eco-friendly elements such as solar panels on the roof, LED lighting, low-flow water fixtures and the collection and reuse of grey water for landscape irrigation.
"We will use a combination of some or all of these solutions in order to use fewer resources and reduce long-term cost," Denman said.
Worth Hotels will own and operate the hotel upon construction. The company also manages a Candlewood Suites in Fort Worth.
