A third Austin-area Daily Juice Cafe is expected to open by May in the new Lamar Union shopping center anchored by Alamo Drafthouse.

Daily Juice Cafe CEO John Martin said the new location is part of a 15-store expansion expected to take place during the next few years between Austin and Houston. The new location, leased at 1100 S. Lamar Blvd., will be part of a new Daily Juice Cafe prototype that customers can come to expect at future locations, Martin said.

The expansion also includes increased menu offerings, particularly seasonal items, he said.

"Whenever you go into one Daily Juice Cafe, you can expect the same customer service, look and feel," Martin said.

The organic juice store sells smoothies, cleanses and juices and various food offerings. Two locations in the Austin area, one downtown and another in Westlake, opened in July. 512-614-3355. www.dailyjuicecafe.com

Other Impacts:

EXPANSION—ClimbTech, a climbing, fall protection and rope-access equipment distributor, announced Nov. 5 plans to expand its South Austin headquarters, located at 7303 Burleson Road, Ste. 901, to include more in-house manufacturing. The company has grown 40 percent year over year and wanted to find a way to further separate itself from competition—most of which outsources equipment manufacturing to Asia, said Chris Vinson, ClimbTech marketing and sales manager. There is no timeline as to when the manufacturing operation and resulting jobs will be ready, he said. 512-308-6440. www.climbtech.com

NOW OPEN—The same mixed-martial arts techniques and workout regimes used by UFC fighters are now being applied in a new non-fighting gym. UFC Gym Central ATX, 8820 Burnet Road, Ste. 400, opened Nov. 1 in a 4,226-square-foot space next to the Trudy's North Star location. Classes can help participants burn up to 1,000–1,200 calories, and guest passes are available online for first-timers. 512-514-0080. www.ufcgym.com/centralatx
