Five San Marcos apartment complexes are scheduled to open in August, but construction delays have forced three of them to postpone their move-in dates, according to Texas State University's Division of Student Affairs.

The delays affect more than 1,000 Texas State students who are set to return to classes Aug. 26.

In an Aug. 15 email to students, Texas State encouraged tenants to stay in touch with the three apartments—The Avenue at San Marcos, Millennium on Post and Vistas San Marcos—regarding temporary living arrangements, transportation, storage and lease obligations.

Miguel Arredondo, a leasing employee for Vistas San Marcos, said the apartment has rescheduled its move-in date from Aug. 15 to Aug. 25, the day before the fall semester begins at Texas State.

"The owners of the property have made sure residents are taken care of during delays," Arredondo said. "Obviously our 600 residents all have different situations, but the owners have tried to accommodate all of the residents as best as possible."

An assistant manager for Millennium on Post declined to comment. A phone call to The Avenue at San Marcos was not immediately returned.
