Representatives of outdoor gear and apparel retailer Gander Mountain have confirmed the company's intention to open a new store in the Round Rock Crossing shopping center.
Gander Mountain plans to open its new Round Rock location this fall at 3021 S. I-35 in the 50,882-square-foot space formerly occupied by Sportsman's Warehouse. The company also announced June 4 its intention to open three additional Texas locations this fall in Lewisville, Mesquite and San Antonio.
"We are happy to be able to add to the 11 stores we already have in Texas and give more people in more regions of the state opportunities to experience our top-quality gear and knowledgeable service at great prices," said David Pratt, Gander Mountain president and CEO.
According to a Gander Mountain news release, the company expects to create as many as 350 new jobs with the opening of the four new Texas stores. On May 15, the company was issued building permits valued at $1.5 million for the interior remodeling of the store.
Founded in 1960, the St. Paul, Minn.–based outdoor specialty retailer currently operates 123 stores in 24 states. In addition to the four new Texas locations, Gander Mountain has opened 10 other stores throughout the U.S. in the past year.
