Startup accelerator Tech Ranch announced Jan. 7 the addition of two new program opportunities for entrepreneurs.

The Venture Start and Venture Builder programs focus on different facets of the startup process, including creating an idea for a business and learning how to get customer traction.

Tech Ranch, located at 9111 Jollyville Road Ste. 100, offers classes, workshops, mentorship programs, networking events, work space and more to entrepreneurs.

Kevin Koym, Tech Ranch founder and CEO, said Venture Start, an intensive one-day program offered Jan. 26, is the first of many programs the group offers for those who do not yet have an idea for a business.

He said the program focuses on starting a business based on the skills and passions of individuals and then applying them to a need in the market.

"It's not just for the newbie, but it's for the person who is exploring," Koym said.

The Venture Builder program, which includes a mentorship throughout 26 weeks, helps entrepreneurs connect with at least one long-term customer.

He said another focus of the program is to help entrepreneurs increase the value of their businesses.

Venture Builder will be headed by the newest addition to Tech Ranch, Sandeep Kumar. Kumar was made partner of the company at the beginning of December and has a great deal of knowledge about venture capital, Koym said.

Tech Ranch offers several programs for startups, including Venture Forth, an eight-week boot camp that aims to help entrepreneurs make their first profit. For more information and to sign up for the ranch's programs, visit the website.
