Diego Perezchica's new business will offer customers a full makeover experience, from hair and nails to body image.

Perezchica plans to open the doors to Novo Voc, a fitness center and salon, on Nov. 12 at 608 E. University Ave. The public can get sneak peek of the fitness space, which is scheduled to be open Nov. 12, and the salon, which will be functional in December, on Nov. 10 from 1–3 p.m.

As a Zumba instructor, Perezchica said he has seen firsthand how women's physical traits affect their self-image.

"When I started doing Zumba, the ladies would come in and talk about their hair, or something that they did, and I saw how important it is for them to have a good self-esteem," he said. "It made their day whenever I would say, 'Oh, I like your hair' or 'Your makeup looks good today.'"

Those experiences gave him the idea to open a one-stop shop for women to work on all aspects of their appearance. Novo Voc, or "new you," will offer Zumba and other fitness classes as well as hair services. Manicures and pedicures will be added to the salon in January.

"I thought, 'Why not open the whole makeover thing in one place and try to make the change?'" Perezchica said.

The business has already garnered positive feedback, especially from future clients.

"They like the idea because it's new," Perezchica said. "When people hear about it, they're very, very excited. They start talking about what I can do for them and make suggestions, so a lot of what's happening has come from the outside."

Novo Voc will be open 9 a.m.–9 p.m. for fitness classes, and salon hours will be 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Mon.–Sat.
