West Lake Hills will soon be getting a new Tex-Mex restaurant.
On April 25, West Lake Hills City Council approved the permits for Lupe Tortilla to work at 701 S. Capital of Texas Hwy., Ste. K, in the space previously occupied by Macaroni Grill. The Houston-based Tex-Mex restaurant chain later this month will appear before council to get permits to sell alcohol and for its sign, said Robert Wood, West Lake Hills city administrator.
Wood said West Lake Hills residents from Houston have been particularly excited about Lupe Tortilla coming to town. The Lupe Tortilla in West Lake Hills will be the chain's 15th location.
Wood said he did not know a projected opening date for the restaurant. In February, restaurant officials said they were shooting to open in early summer.
