With all precincts now reporting, Monica De La Cruz has won the race for U.S. Rep. District 15 with 80,869 votes which is 53.35% of all the total votes cast in the election. Her opponent Michelle Vallejo had 67,913 of votes cast which is 44.8% of votes cast.

"Only in this great country can the granddaughter of a Mexican farm worker go from ironing shirts to get through college to become a member of Congress,” De la Cruz said in a statement.

Republican Monica De La Cruz, who is running for the 15th U.S. Congressional District, is ahead in the early-voting results with 51,632 votes, which is 52.2% of the early voting ballots.

Her opponent, Democrat Michelle Vallejo, is behind with 46,400, which is 46.03% of the early voting ballots casted.

The winner in this year's election will replace Democrat Vicente Gonzalez Jr. in a district that spans from New Braunfels to the southern Texas border.
