New Braunfels ISD officials announced Feb. 3 that district schools will remain closed on Friday, Feb. 4.

Wet roads and below freezing temperatures that are expected to continue until Friday morning contributed to the decision, according to the district.

Both NBISD and CISD are expected to resume normal operations on Monday, Feb. 7.

Comal ISD officials announced Feb. 2 that all district campuses and departments will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3, and Friday, Feb. 4, in anticipation of severe weather conditions.


In addition to canceled classes, all extracurricular activities scheduled for Thursday through Saturday are canceled or will be postponed.

New Braunfels ISD campuses and facilities will be closed Feb. 3 and staff will monitor weather conditions throughout the day to determine if the closure will continue through Feb. 4, according to an NBISD parent email.

Temperatures throughout Central Texas are anticipated to begin dropping Wednesday night and reports from the National Weather Service expect temperatures at or below freezing to last through Saturday.

Forecasts predict a 90% chance of precipitation throughout the day on Thursday that could lead to as much as a quarter of an inch of ice accumulation, according to the NWS.
