Comal County declared Kristen H. Hoyt the winner of the March Primary election for Tax Assessor and Collector. Hoyt earned 57.2% of reported results—11,372 votes. Candidate Patrick Aten received 8,494 votes for 42.8% of the tally.

Kristen H. Hoyt continues to lead Patrick Aten in the race for Comal County Tax Assessor. Hoyt has 55.79% of the vote and 9,045 votes with 16 of 27 polling locations reporting partial results from all 29 precincts. Aten has 7,167 votes and 44.21% of the ballots in his favor.

Hoyt leads Patrick Aten with 6,190 votes, or a 54.04% share of all early votes. Patrick Aten has 45.96% of the current tally, or 5,265 votes.
This primary cycle saw the two candidates compete for the position left vacant by outgoing assessor Cathy C. Talcott.
Totals from ballots cast on March 3 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m. though voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots. Community Impact Newspaper will update this article as more Primary Election Day vote totals come in.
