As population increases, Williamson County updates its election precinct boundariesWilliamson County commissioners adjusted several election precinct boundary lines in April, and many of the changes affect precinct lines in the Cedar Park and Leander area.

Per state election code, Texas counties are divided into individual precincts that must stay below 5,000 registered voters, said Chris Davis, election administrator for Williamson County. He said several county precincts were growing close to the maximum number.

In the Cedar Park and Leander area, boundary lines for precincts 201, 204, 206, 207, 253, 259, 264, 267, 273, 277 and 278 were altered. The changes will create election precincts 202, 263 and 345.

These new precincts will take effect Jan. 1, 2018.
