Residents in Riviera Springs in Cedar Park could begin seeing construction on the northwest side of the neighborhood in November.

The city of Cedar Park is planning to build an emergency access road between the neighborhood and the Arbor at Lakeline condominium development, Senior Engineer Leon Sparks said. The roadway would aid residents during times when access out of the neighborhood through East Riviera Drive is blocked due to flooding from the Muir Lake reservoir, he said.

Sparks said the roadway will be blocked with a gate that would remain locked until emergency access is needed.

During an Oct. 13 meeting, Cedar Park City Council approved an agreement to allow the city manager to execute a contract with Jimmy Evans Company for the construction of the roadway for an amount not to exceed $65,857.

Sparks said construction is estimated to start in November and could last about 60 days.
