Spring break is this week for local school districts

Eanes, Lake Travis and Leander ISDs are observing spring break this week, March 13-17. Classes resume in all three districts March 20.

Bee Cave City Council will meet Tuesday night

Bee Cave City Council meeting takes place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Bee Cave City Hall, 4000 Galleria Parkway, Bee Cave.  The agenda includes amending the zoning for a tract off West Hwy. 71 adjacent to Spanish Oaks to single family rural residential and neighborhood service as well as a proposed declaration of the city's intent to annex about 500 acres off Hamilton Pool Road and about 340 acres off RR 620. The item regarding a zoning amendment for The Terrace's planned development district, off Bee Cave Parkway near RR 620, has been postponed to April 11.

WTCPUA will take up a request for additional service off Hamilton Pool Road at Thursday’s meeting

West Travis County Public Utility Agency meets on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Bee Cave City Hall, 4000 Galleria Parkway, Bee Cave. The agenda includes a service extension request by the developers of a 700-lot development off Hamilton Pool Road, as well as Lake Travis ISD to serve the district's Middle School No. 3.

The recycling center will have a collection event Wednesday

The Lake Travis Regional Reuse and Recycling Center, 3207 Neidhardt Drive, Austin, is collecting hazardous household cleaning, paint and automotive products during a free collection event Wednesday, 9 a.m.-noon. Services are available for residents of the cities of Lakeway and Bee Cave, Village of The Hills, and within the Hurst Creek Municipal Utility District, Lakeway Municipal Utility District, and Water Control and Improvement District No. 17.

South by Southwest Conferences & Festivals resume activities around Austin this week with the film and interactive festivals continuing from the weekend, and the music component beginning Tuesday.

The Lakeway Swim Center will be closed for maintenance until April 2

From March 11-April 2, the Lakeway Swim Center will be closed due to maintenance on the lap pool, leisure pool and slides. The closure will affect those on the Lost Creek Aquatics Swim Team and those who participate in Lakeway water aerobics classes.
