St. Stephen’s Episcopal School Class of 2019 students volunteered at local nonprofit organizations and nature preserves Oct. 11 to show support of the community, school spokesperson Anne Marie Becka said in a news release.

Students cleared a pedestrian path of rocks and debris at Wild Basin Preserve, and removed invasive plant species from natural grasses at West Cave Preserve, she said. At Blunn Creek Nature Preserve, students cleared invasive ligustrum trees and trunks.

Students also volunteered by decorating Community First Village, an East Austin development created by nonprofit Mobile Loaves & Fishes, for the holidays, Becka said. Also in East Austin, students packed school and art supplies at nonprofit Creative Action.
