An orthopedic surgery group and new surgeon have joined Seton Southwest Hospital.
Austin Surgical Trauma Specialists’ orthopedic surgeons respond to emergencies and are seeing patients at Seton Southwest through the emergency department, according to Mary Faria, Seton Southwest vice president and chief operating officer.
“It just allows community members to have their surgery closer to home,” she said.
Seton recruited Lauren Ash, a general surgeon, in summer 2014 and promoted Jeff Johnson to chairman of surgery and vice chief of the hospital.
“[Seton Southwest is] a very small hospital, but it’s perfect for the community because it’s very accessible,” Johnson said.
