Street resurfacing projects, including a high-performance surface seal treatment, are underway in Sun City and will continue throughout the summer. The sealant is applied to the surface of the roadway to reduce damage from ultraviolet radiation and vehicle traffic.

On the day work is scheduled for sur
face seal treatment, the streets will be closed to traffic and street parking from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Georgetown city officials said the process includes a two-coat spray application of a liquid asphalt mixture. Each coat takes two to three hours to dry, and residents are asked not to walk or drive on the new sealant surface until traffic cones and barricades are removed.

The work schedule can be affected by weather conditions, mechanical issues and product availability. See updates at https://transportation.georgetown.org.
