Ben Stewart has been elected to Place 7 on Georgetown ISD's board of trustees, according to unofficial results Saturday.

Stewart received 55.95 percent of 3,219 votes cast in a race against Jaquita Wilson, according to the Williamson County Elections Department.

Incumbent Ben Stewart has built upon an early lead over Jaquita Wilson in the election race for Place 7 on the Georgetown ISD board of trustees, according to updated vote counts Saturday.

Stewart has received 56.28 percent of votes so far to Wilson’s 48.90 percent, according to the Williamson County Elections Department.

Elections officials report 3,090 ballots have been counted, a total that includes early voting ballots and initial election night returns.

Ben Stewart leads Jaquita Wilson in the election race for Place 7 on Georgetown ISD’s board of trustees, according to early voting returns Saturday.
Stewart has received 58.92 percent of votes so far, according to counts from the Williamson County Elections Department. Wilson has received 41.08 percent.

County officials report 2,607 early voting ballots have been counted.

Place 7 is one of two seats on the seven-member GISD board up for election Saturday. GISD trustees serve three-year terms and are elected at-large by voters.

Wilson, who has experience in educational management, has worked as a teacher, teacher’s aide and a juvenile services counselor as well as Head Start director in Liberty Hill.

Stewart, who was appointed to the board in 2016 to replace former trustee Ronna Johnson, is a technical consultant for Dimension Data North America and has served as a PTA president and treasurer.
