Williamson County Emergency Management opened a water distribution site at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex Wednesday morning.

County residents who are affected by the Austin boil water notice who have special needs, are unable to boil water or need bottled water for work may pick up water from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. except Friday when the site will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The complex is located at 10211 W. Parmer Lane, Austin.

Customers will be asked for their zip code and the total number of people in the household and will receive one gallon of water per person, the county said.

Traffic will need to enter the stadium parking lot from the southbound lane of Parmer Lane, turn right into the stadium where they will be directed on where to pick up their water. Residents traveling in the northbound lane on Parmer Lane from SH 45 will not be able to turn left into the stadium at Cassandra Drive and will need to travel past the stadium to Avery Ranch Boulevard and turn around to travel south and turn right into entrance of the stadium, county officials said.

On Tuesday, County Judge Dan Gattis issued a declaration of disaster for Williamson County as a way for the county to obtain state funding to pay for overtime employees that will be needed to run the water distribution point. The city of Austin will be providing and paying for the water.
