National Crime Victims' Rights Week
April 2-8
The national movement will be observed this week in Williamson County.

This year's theme is "Strength, Resilience, Justice," and an awards ceremony will be held to recognize and honor individuals who demonstrate outstanding service to victims of crime and victim services.

The ceremony will be held on April 5 at 10 a.m. at the historic courthouse on the Square located at 710 Main St., Georgetown.

Williamson County Commissioners Court 
Tuesday, April 4
The court will meet for its weekly Tuesday meeting. Items on the agenda include infrastructure updates, Legislature updates and the appointment of a replacement to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority board of directors.

Southwestern University Neurobiology Symposium
Wednesday, April 5
Southwestern University presents “Social and Emotional Development and Risk: The Role of Neurobiology.”

Speakers will lecture about how recent advancements in technology have moved our understanding of human development and psychopathology from broad behavioral definitions toward biological, psychological and social mechanisms.

This symposium brings together the leading theorist on the neurodevelopment of psychopathy, Dr. James Blair, and two alumnae early career scientists who focus on understanding typical and atypical neurodevelopment, Dr.Laura Thornton and Rachel Thibodeau.

Topics of discussion will include early interventions for at-risk children, the role of trauma in the development of antisocial behavior, and the use of behavioral neuroscience to further understanding of antisocial behavior and callous-unemotional traits.

Voter registration deadline
Thursday, April 6
The deadline to register to vote or update voter registration information for the upcoming May election is April 6.

The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Tuesday, April 25, and all applications must be received in the Elections Office by this date.

Early voting in Williamson County begins April 24 and runs through May 2. No early voting is available Sunday, April 30.
