Tree recycling
City of Georgetown residents can recycle Christmas trees, boxes and wrapping paper this year.
- Trees can be placed on the curb during regularly scheduled yard trimming pick up days.
- Cardboard boxes and wrapping paper are recyclable and can be placed in your recycling cart or in a box next to it. Bows and ribbons cannot be recycled.
- Residents can drop off trees from Dec. 26-Jan. 31 at City of Georgetown Collection Station, 250 W.L. Walden Drive.

Williamson County closings:
Williamson County offices will be closed Dec. 23, 26, and 30.
The Commissioners Court will not meet on Dec. 27, or Jan. 3. The first regularly scheduled meeting of 2017 will be held at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 10.
The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, 1855 S.E. Inner Loop, Georgetown, will be open Christmas Eve from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., closed on Christmas Day, and will be open New Year’s Eve 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and will be closed New Year’s Day.
