At Tuesday morning's Williamson County Commissioners Court meeting, County Judge Dan Gattis took a moment to express his gratitude for Commissioner Ron Morrison, who died Sept. 7.

"[Morrison] thoroughly enjoyed being [a Williamson County] commissioner," Gattis said.

Gattis also addressed questions concerning a replacement for Morrison, who represented Precinct 4.

"In due time it is a process that has to go through and is up to the judge to do, but it is weighing heavy on my heart," Gattis said.

Gattis said he will start looking for someone to fill the Precinct 4 vacancy next week but is in no hurry to find a replacement.

"I will be looking very earnestly for someone who could fill that [position] and do a great job, but not someone who is looking to run for that position," Gattis said.

Gattis said the appointee for Precinct 4 will serve until November 2018, when the position is up for election.
