Exactly one year after opening its first Austin location near The University of Texas campus, Snarf's Sandwiches announced plans June 23 to open a second shop in South Austin.
Snarf's, a Boulder, Colo.-based eatery known for its oven-toasted sub sandwiches, will open this fall at the South First Plaza, 1400 South First St., according to a news release. The first Austin location at 2901 Medical Arts St. will continue operating.
“We’ve received such a warm welcome from the Austin community and are thrilled to be opening our second location,” Snarf's owner/founder Jimmy Seidel said in a statement.
Austin residents Elizabeth and Don Baker, as well as Dallas residents Lisa and Tim Kriegshauser, also have ownership stake in both Austin locations.
The menu at the second Snarf's will include the same oven-toasted sandwiches, specialty sandwiches, gluten-free items, salads and soups as the original Austin location.
Snarf's, first started in 1996, now has more than 20 locations nationwide in Colorado, Missouri, Illinois and Texas.
