All Capital Metro services will be suspended on Feb. 1 to allow the transit system to support transportation to cold weather shelters and other emergency services, according to an announcement from the organization.

The last trips for bus, rail, pickup and access trips on Jan. 31 will begin at 7 p.m., and buses are expected to complete their last runs by 9 p.m.

“Based on National Weather Service predictions that conditions will worsen this evening and continue throughout the day on Feb. 1, CapMetro has decided to focus our scarce resources on serving our most vulnerable populations with services,” the report said.

Capital Metro will help with emergency needs as requested Jan. 31 and Feb. 1; access and pickup services will be provided for life-sustaining trips, such as dialysis, the report said.
