Amplify Austin Day, an annual 24-hour philanthropic event organized by local nonprofit I Live Here I Give Here, raised $10.3 million between 6 p.m. March 1 and 6 p.m. March 2.

The sixth annual Amplify Austin event supported more than 700 Central Texas nonprofits across seven counties.

Austin Pets Alive received the highest number of individual donations. More than 62,000 people participated in the event.

"We realized that raising $10 million in one day was a very ambitious goal," ILHIGH Executive Director Celeste Flores said in a news release. "But this community answered the call to give generously and came together ... to stand behind the organizations that make Central Texas sustainable and vibrant for all."

Local businesses, including Cirrus Logic and Silicon Labs, encouraged their employees to donate by matching contributions. Participating nonprofits with the most scheduled donations were also eligible for $5,000 prizes.

The St. David's Foundation continued its tradition of matching funds up to $1 million for its nonprofit grant partners.

Last year, the event raised $9.8 million.
