More than 15 million Texas residents registered to vote this election, according to the Texas Secretary of State's office, a record figure and a 5 percent increase from the primaries earlier this year. In total, about 78 percent of voting-age Texans can vote between now and Nov. 8, Election Day.

Many of those voters wasted no time casting ballots, participating Monday in the first day of early voting, which runs through Nov. 4. Travis County alone received 35,025 ballots, and Williamson County recorded 18,058 early votes—not counting mail-in and limited ballots.

Here's where the most early-voting ballots were cast. Keep in mind both counties allow residents to vote from any voting center. For an interactive map showing Travis County polling location wait times, visit the County Clerk's website.
