WHAT WE REPORTED Duke’s Adventure Golf, a miniature golf course with a Colorado mining theme, was scheduled to open last fall on Slaughter Lane. The course will include a 20-foot-tall waterfall, a water wheel, ponds and fountains.

THE LATEST Siblings and co-owners Jessica and Dave Backus said a delay in permitting pushed the opening to April, weather permitting. The city approved the businesses’ development permit and site plan last November and the pair broke ground shortly after.

WHAT'S NEXT According to Dave, plans to install a mining sluice—a box that separates fool’s gold from waste gravel—as well as potential partnerships with food trucks are in the works. “It has been a long journey to get here, and we cannot wait to open,” Jessica said.
