What we reported
Austin-based chain Torchy’s Tacos opened one of its largest stores Nov. 1 at the Oaks at Lakeway shopping center.
The eatery offers breakfast tacos and main-course tacos made with pork, brisket, chicken and fish. Vegetarian options are also available.
The Lakeway location also offers a full bar with housemade margaritas and a happy hour Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m.
“We chose [this] particular spot based on tons of customer feedback asking us to please, please come to Lakeway,” founder Mike Rypka said. “It took us a while to find the right spot so we’d have enough parking and the ability to build a beautiful restaurant. This one will be roomy and able to accommodate plenty of our loyal fans.”
The latest
The Lakeway location has performed exceptionally well in its first two months of operation, Marketing Manager Stacey Floberg said.
“The reception we’ve received is the same as we’ve received at most of our stores,” she said. “The community has welcomed us with open arms, and we’re happy to be a part of the Lakeway family.”
What’s next
As of now, there are not any plans for change at the Lakeway store.
“We’re committed to continue serving really great food and really great drinks at all our locations,” Floberg said.
Like other Torchy’s locations, the Lakeway store will offer a special taco of the month that will change throughout the year.
