School in the Hills, a private Montessori school owned and operated by Alicia and Daniel Marker, opened a second area location in River Place on March 21. The school offers classes and after-school care for children 18 months old through third grade.

Since opening, the River Place school has doubled its enrollment, with about 170 students as of Jan. 1, Daniel said.


Although both the Steiner Ranch and River Place locations offer the same early childhood programs, the elementary school program is exclusive to River Place.


What’s next


Daniel said with support from the community and a growing student body, he can feel the momentum building for School in the Hills.


“We’re going to continue to grow and appreciate all the support we’ve received,” he said.
