The Dan's Hamburgers location on Manchaca Road reopened March 3 after being closed a few months for renovations, owner and President Katie Congdon said.

"We are very glad and very appreciative of our very loyal customer base," she said. "We built it, and they came."

Congdon said the first day was a busy one, though the restaurant did not hold a grand opening celebration. The Manchaca Road location is open for regular business hours.

The company closed the location in September to begin demolition before spending about $1 million to build the new 4,500-square-foot restaurant, Congdon said. The new location is about 800 square feet larger and now features a drive-thru, a mezzanine for storage and a "retro" aesthetic with a breakfast counter and barstools, she said.
