Asian eatery's sports bar buoys business

When the city of Kyle relaxed its liquor restrictions, it opened the possibility for Frank Lai to meet a growing customer request: to wash sushi rolls down with sake.

"It's been pretty helpful, pretty successful," Lai said of Koy Chinese & Sushi's opening in January 2013 of its sports bar.

The bar, featuring five 70-inch televisions and seating for up to 46 people, offers draft beer, shots, wines, liquor and $2 margaritas.

NFL games, including those that air on the NFL Network, can be seen on the screens.

Catering service is also offered.

Opened in October 2010, Lai said Kyle's growth has helped sustain the restaurant's momentum.

"We are pleased the town is growing with good support," he said.
