Amplify Austin, a 24-hour fundraising marathon hosted by I Live Here, I Give Here, has a lofty $7 million goal heading into the March 5-6 event.
To help kick off the third annual event, ILHIGH collaborated with Soundwaves Art Foundation to debut a unique artwork Feb. 13 that visualizes the song Texas Flood from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, which in April will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Local artist Tim Wakefield created the piece by digitally manipulating sound waves from the songs audio recording to reflect the songs meaning, tempo and emotion through art. Wakefield has also worked with more than 100 other musicians, including Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney, on similar sound wave interpretations.
The project, part of a new initiative called ART X AMPLIFY pronounced Art by Amplify, seeks to raise money for the Amplify Austin fundraiser.

Were always looking for new ways to connect the people of Austin with the causes close to their hearts, said Tom Spencer, ILHIGH executive director, in a statement. Through ART X AMPLIFY, Austin art and music lovers can help amplify the good in our community.
Prints of Wakefield's Texas Flood interpretation, all signed by the artist and Double Trouble band members, are selling for $199 each. Fifty percent of the proceeds will benefit ILHIGH and Amplify Austin.
