A scratch kitchen featuring rotisserie chickens from Cobb Creek Farm, roast pork and lamb plans to open in Southwest Austin near Oak Hill in February. Winner Winner Rotisserie and Fine Foods will also offer salads, sandwiches, desserts, beer and wine.
Austin Board of Realtors names interim CEO
Emily Chenevert was named interim chief executive officer of the Austin Board of Realtors starting Jan. 1, as the organization’s board of directors seeks a permanent CEO with the help of an executive search firm. Chenevert currently serves as chief operating officer.
Houston politician says Trump's tax plan will "boost the economy" in Texas
A 1,101-page, Republican-backed overhaul of the federal tax code was signed into law Friday, Dec. 22, by President Donald Trump.
Houston-area Rep. Kevin Brady, R-The Woodlands, chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, said in a statement the measure would be a boost to the economy.
“This legislation will deliver real relief to hardworking families in my district and across the country who will be able to keep more of the money they earn,” he said. “It will create more opportunities for workers to find that next new job, earn that long-overdue raise and get ahead.”
Outdoor preschool The Butterfly Garden to open Thursday in Southwest Austin
Outdoor preschool The Butterfly Garden will open its second location Thursday, Jan. 4, in the Enchanted Woodlands farm on Kit Carson Road in Southwest Austin. The nature-inspired educational experience is geared toward children 2-6 years old and includes nature walks, bug collecting, nature-inspired art, and forest explorations. The school offers one other location in Round Rock.
