Anthony Graves case and analysis presentation  

The League of Women Voters of Hays County, in conjunction with the Texas State Honors College, is hosting a presentation on the Anthony Graves case and the implications it presents about the Texas judicial system at the San Marcos Public Library. The video program will be followed with discussion led by Shannon Fitzpatrick, an attorney at Texas State and a former prosecutor. 7 p.m. Free. San Marcos Public Library, 625 E. Saturday, Oct. 7
San Marcos Fire Department Fire Prevention Month

To kick off Fire Prevention Month, the San Marcos Fire Department will host an open house so residents can learn about fire prevention with interactive events and demonstrations. Attendees can ride on a fire truck, witness a vehicle rescue demonstration and race in an inflatable obstacle course. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Free. Sip and Savor Wine and Food Festival

Eighth annual Community Health Fair
