In a Facebook post April 21, Alpharetta city officials announced that the final paving of Rucker Road, a $15.4 million major corridor project that has been underway for the last three years, will begin the week of April 27. Barring inclement weather, the work could be completed before May 1.

Final roadway striping will be applied about three weeks after this work is completed, the post said, to give the top coat of asphalt time to cure. Landscaping installation work along the roadway will continue during this time as well.

Project details include the addition of two roundabouts; narrowing travel lanes; providing sidewalks on both sides of the roadway; and adding aesthetic features, such as trees and planted medians, as Community Impact Newspaper previously reported.
