Milton City Council approved the extension of its emergency ordinance June 8, which extends the declaration of a public health emergency and other business support efforts related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic through 11:59 p.m. July 12. This extension aligns with Gov. Brian Kemp's statewide public health emergency declaration through July 12 as well.

The ordinance's extension, with additional amendments, allows restaurants to continue offering packaged to-go beer and wine through July 12 as well as allows certain temporary signage outside retail stores and restaurants though the same date. Alcohol excise tax payments and business license renewals are also deferred to the same date.

Council meets again at 6 p.m. June 15 at Milton City Hall, located at 2006 Heritage Walk, Milton.
