National Volunteer Week: 4 ways to get involved in Houston’s Inner Loop


April 7-13 is National Volunteer Week. Here are four ways to consider volunteering or donating to
some charitable nonprofits around Houston.

Buffalo Bayou Partnership

Covenant House

Covenant House provides support services and housing for at-risk youth facing homelessness in metropolitan areas. Covenant House has helped more than 1 million boys and girls by providing short-term housing and longer-term transitional housing to combat homelessness. 713-523-2231. 1111 Lovett Blvd.

Girls inc. of Greater Houston

Girls Inc. of Greater Houston helps empower and inspire young girls to grow up to be healthy, educated and independent with its mentoring programs, outreach and research. 713-802-2260. 2190 North Loop West, Ste. 105.

Interfaith Ministries

Interfaith Ministries, which marks 50 years of service in the city this month, brings people of all faiths together to make a positive impact on their communities through dialogue and service.
