Experiment with Annie Sloan painting techniques

February 6

Participants receive hands-on instruction from a professionally trained instructor on basic Annie Sloan methods. Guests learn how to use clear and dark waxes to enhance and protect pieces. Snacks and drinks are served, and all supplies are included.

Lewisville City Council retreats to discuss goals

The annual retreat allows the council to discuss areas of policy and identify opportunities for 2019 and beyond. Most sessions are open to the public, but the format does not include public comment.

The Highland Village Parks and Recreation Department hosts a valentine craft night for couples to connect with other couples for a unique date night. The event is age 21 and up and space is limited. Registration deadline is one week prior to the event.

CYT Dallas to bring ‘Annie Jr.’ play to MCL Grand

February 15-17

In this production orphan Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. She finds a new home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his dog, Sandy, and his secretary, Grace Farrell.

The Great Texas Train Show to feature exhibits

February 16-17

The show is designed for the general public, modelers, hobbyists, families and the just plain curious. Each show features hundreds of tables of model trains and accessories for sale, exhibits and more. The event offers free workshops and demonstrations as well as door prize giveaways.

Take a group class to learn
the art of flower arranging

February 27

Alice’s Table hosts a flower arranging class where guests can learn how to make flower arrangements and bring them home. Equipment and supplies are provided with the purchase of a ticket. No previous experience is necessary as the class is aimed at catering to all levels of skill.

McAuliffe chili cookoff to feature silent auction

February 28

The McAuliffe Elementary Chili Cook-off is an annual event for the entire Highland Village community. The 14th annual event includes a silent auction, inflatables, food and more. Money from the fundraiser helps provide school supplies and helps fund field trips, books in the library and more.
