Market Street and the American Heart Association will host a family-friendly, hands-only CPR awareness event from 9 a.m.-noon at Market Street on Saturday, March 25.
Guests are invited to come and go as they please to learn about hands-only CPR and enjoy heart-healthy activities.
The CPR bystander rate in Montgomery County is only 14 percent, but the national average is 44 percent, CPR ambassador Patti Van Horn said. The goal is to train 1,000 people how to do hands-only CPR by September. Four hundred have already been trained, she said.
The event is free of charge and will take place in Market Street’s Central Park.
