Fort Bend County approved $3.32 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of a Home American Rescue Plan agreement between the federal department and Fort Bend County at an Oct. 5 commissioners court meeting.

The American Rescue Plan Act provides funding for emergency rental assistance, homeowner assistance, funds for fair housing activities and more, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The funds will be part of the Fiscal Year 2021 Consolidated Plan approved by the commissioners court on July 13. The funds will be available to the county until September 2030, according to the agreement.
