Development of Grand Central Park continues to gain momentum with construction starting this month on the master-planned community’s first model homes.

Grand Central Park is a 2,046-acre master-planned community under development at the intersection of I-45 and S. Loop 336 in Conroe. The community will offer traditional and urban residential options as well as a town center, retail and dining, office space and a conference center.

The homes will be located in the community’s West Village, which will include 350 sites upon completion of its first phase. Homebuilders include Dress Custom Homes, Darling Homes, Coventry Homes, Perry Homes, Village Builders and David Weekley Homes, according to Johnson Development Corp.

Drees Custom Homes and Darling Homes both introduced floor plans and pricing for homes in Grand Central Park, and will begin construction on model homes by the end of July.

“Darling Homes and Drees Custom Homes were selected because of their distinctive home designs, reputation for quality construction and commitment to customer satisfaction,” GCP General Manager Virgil Yoakum said. “The builders give buyers in Grand Central Park ample choice to find the perfect home for their needs.”

Drees will offer nine home designs at the master planned community starting at $410,000, including six original layouts. Each floor plan places an emphasis on outdoor living and is indented to appeal to residents in search for an active lifestyle, according to the company. Drees will begin construction on a model home by the end of July.

“All but three of the plans we are offering in Grand Central Park are new to the Houston area [and] the company,” said Chris Olson, Drees Custom Homes sales manager. “Grand Central Park is such a unique community that we took a targeted approach based on thorough market research to decide what to build there.”

Darling Homes will offer several one story, three bedroom layouts starting at $370,000 ranging from 2,300 square feet to 3,000 square feet. The homes can include features such as breakfast nooks, island kitchens, media rooms and walk-in closets.

The homebuilders have started presale on homes at Grand Central Park.
