Eric Hall, a Frisco resident, has filed for Frisco City Council, Place 2. The seat is currently held by city council member Jeff Cheney, who will complete his third term in May 2016 and is term limited.

Hall is U.S. Army veteran and works as a financial representative with Personal Economics Group. He has lived in Frisco for three years and said he decided it was a good time for him to run for office.

"I've been involved for a while in state and some local politics mostly at the county level or with a county party," Hall said. "But I'm a firm believer that all politics are local, and the best way to affect change and maintain growth ... is to be fiscally responsible and make sure the quality of life for our citizens here in Frisco stays well. That was my motivation to run."

If elected, Hall said he would focus on helping bring more small businesses into Frisco and create more jobs.

"I'm glad we're recruiting big companies and Fortune 100 companies. However I think the lifeblood is small businesses," Hall said. "We can bring in more people and create more jobs. I would want to bring small business ownership across the board ... so we can truly represent the diverse community that we're in."

Hall currently serves as a precinct chair in Frisco and the Collin County GOP vice-chairman for engagement. Hall is also a graduate of Frisco City Hall 101.

Terri Green and Shona Huffman have also filed for Place 2.

Filing for Frisco City Council opened Jan. 20 and will last until Feb. 19. The city’s election is set for May 7.
