Business is heating up at Johnny T’s BBQ, which opened its second Pflugerville restaurant in December after relocating to the city from Round Rock in 2014.

Catering Manager MindyAnn Freeman said the new location off Grand Avenue Parkway caters to bar crowds and fast-paced lunch crowds that are looking for grab-and-go options. The new restaurant features a simplified menu, a drive-thru and encourages BYOB, she said.

“We wanted to try a new area and a new concept,” Freeman said.

Since opening its first location off FM 685 in Pflugerville, Johnny T’s has become popular with the community, Freeman said. The fast-casual barbecue restaurant features nine different smoked meats, more than a dozen sides, a variety of homemade salads and sandwiches, and also offers custom catering services.
