Red Silo Studios is expected to open in a newly renovated 2,600-square-foot space at 114 E. Seventh St. just off the Square in November.

The music recording and instruction studio offers lessons, recording and guitar repair for people of all ages.

Partners Aaron Kemkaran and Tom Hall said the new space is larger than the studios previous location on Austin Avenue and will allow the business to grow.

“We wanted to create an experience, so if you come to do business with us, the hope is that you wont want for anything,” Hall said. “It’s all there.”

Kemkaran said construction near the previous location had made it difficult for customers to access the business.

Together, the partners and local architect Davin Hoyt said they spent a lot of time on the design of the new studio located next door to Gumbo’s North.

“[We] wanted to add space that was more versatile in and off itself, better equipment [and] amenities for artists,” Kemkaran said.

Kemkaran and Hall said working with local businesses was also a priority while designing and building the new space. The team used an area electrical designer as well as a plumber, graphic and web designer, attorney and creative consultant for the new studio.

“We did not have to look very far to find everyone we needed to put the project together,” Kemkaran said.
