A handful of local and national food and beverage businesses are lined up to gain a residency at Plaza Saltillo—the 11-acre multi-use project currently under development in East Austin.

Providing a development update at a luncheon for the Real Estate Council of Austin, Jason Thumlert of Endeavor Real Estate Group said he was already working with five food and beverage businesses to lease some of the 115,000-square-feet the project has designated for retail and restaurants.

According to a newsletter sent by Endeavor this week, the project—located along Comal Street between Fourth and Fifth streets—is expected to be finished by late 2018, earlier than the original projection of third quarter 2019.

Below are the five businesses Thumlert highlighted during the RECA luncheon.

Epoch Coffee – A staple in the local coffee shop scene, Epoch Coffee will have a 2,000-square-foot location at Plaza Saltillo, the company's fourth in Austin. Epoch currently has brick-and-mortar shops set up on North Loop Boulevard and West Anderson Lane, with a third location expected to open on Far West Boulevard by the end of 2017.

Tarka Indian Kitchen – The Indian restaurant first opened in Austin in 2009 and has since spread to seven locations across Texas. Tarka's 2,700-square-foot Plaza Saltillo location will be its fourth in Austin.

Dolce Neve Gelato – The local Italian gelato shop, which currently operates on South First Street in Austin and in Houston, will occupy a 1,000-square-foot space in Plaza Saltillo.

Barcelona Wine Bar – The upscale wine bar and restaurant’s 4,500-square-foot Plaza Saltillo location will be its first in Texas. The wine bar currently operates in Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington D.C.

Stout Burgers and Beers – The restaurant and bar's 3,500-square-foot space in Plaza Saltillo will be its sixth location but first in Texas. There are currently three in southern California and two others in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Austin Juicery - There is not much information on this new juice shop other than it will occupy a 600-square-foot space in Plaza Saltillo, and it is a new business venture from the owners of Massage Sway.

Saltillo Market - The 36,400-square-foot public market will be unique to the Plaza Saltillo development.
