Baylor Scott & White broke ground March 3 on a new 100,000-square-foot, four-story facility which will house its new cancer center.

Baylor Scott & White Cancer Center—Round Rock will offer enhanced cancer diagnostic and treatment services, cancer screenings, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term monitoring in one location, according to a release. The facility's upper floors will also feature bone, joint and neurology services.

“The Round Rock Cancer Center will be unlike any other facility in the region because it will offer all cancer treatment options under one roof, employ a multi-disciplinary team of board-certified oncology specialists, and provide access to the entire Baylor Scott & White system,” said Jay Fox, president of Baylor Scott & White—Austin/Round Rock region, in a statement.

The site will provide services for radiation oncology, medical oncology, surgical oncology and hematology as well as social services, nutritional services and genetic testing to assess hereditary cancer risk. The new facility will be located at the southwest side of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at 300 University Blvd., Round Rock.
